Going for a weekend ride ? What all do you need to keep in mind ?
- a good bicycle in working order. The ABC quick check method.
- puncture kit – tire levers, patches, rubber cement, mini pump and a small piece of waterproof sandpaper.
- spare tube
- Basic tools – allen keys, spanners if you need em.
- First aid
Safety on these rides is of utmost importance. Make sure you follow rules on the road and ride sensibly
- helmet is mandatory
- gloves – to prevent your palms from getting numb on long rides
- riding glasses
- clothing – bike shorts, full sleeve shirt
- basic first aid
If riding for an hour is fun, riding for 10 hours must be 10 times as much fun.
The crux of the issue is making sure the engine, your body, is properly fueled all the time. Carrying some energy drink and some quick energy food is a good idea.
Drink before you feel thirsty and eat before you get hungry – is a good thumb rule to follow
Dont carry too much, that too can spoil a ride.
